With her warm and loving family as Donna’s main source of motivation, she set out on a journey to fight against this degenerative disease. Through perseverance, the 48 year-old American saw several positive improvements early in her treatment process.
Donna's Pursuit of Effective Treatment
Donna, a 48 year-old woman from America, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This life changing diagnosis pushed her into a search for a treatment that could alleviate her symptoms, which then lead to the discovery of Cellular Therapy. Driven by her family’s tremendous support, Donna travelled to Bangkok to undergo treatment with Unique Access Medical in pursuit of effective treatment for her condition.
Donna’s Personalised Treatment Plan
As a part of her Treatment Protocol, Donna received Cellular Therapy, along with other supportive rehabilitation programs, which included Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Aqua Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Acupuncture, and Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS).
What is Aqua Therapy?
Aquatic Therapy refers to the rehabilitation and therapeutic treatments and exercises carried out in a warm and relaxing heated pool. The rehabilitation techniques range from aquatic bodyworks, physical therapy, aquatic exercise and other movement-based therapies which are designed to improve stability, body movement, muscular strength and muscular function for patients with musculoskeletal degenerative and neurological conditions, such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis by supporting the patient’s body, enhancing flexibility, and allowing for improvements in range of motion.
It is carried out by well-trained Physical Therapists, who develop an appropriate program for each patient depending on his or her condition.
Donna's friend, Julie, who accompanied Donna during her treatment, shared a glimpse of their experience at the facility,
“Everybody is fantastic. It’s been great.”
